Juried artist, R. Stuart Carpenter, studied fine art, as well as commercial art in Chicago, Illinois. His early career found him honing his talents at various studios and agencies throughout the Chicagoland area. He now exhibits his artwork in the Valley of the Sun, where he has resided since 1991. Drawing inspiration from early Native American history, tradition and folklore, th artist respectfully illustrates our nation's first celebrated people. These exceptional mided-media, three dimentional works of art are found in many private collections throughout the United States. Two Black Bears



Legendary War Chief


This Blackfoot warrior, legend has it, sustained life-threatening injuries when he encountered (and eventaully killed) a large male black bear coming out of hybernation. Years later, this same warrior killed a second black bear and was given the name: Two Black Bears.
